What...

    The PM-1 Pro Mod should be considered a complete overhaul and upgrade vs a mod.  This upgrade allows you to take back your tone when using the Ernie Ball Volume Pedal as well as offers the smoothest taper and solid durability upgrades.  Using a dual IC buffer setup with separate input/output buffers we can now allow for your tone to pass through the pedal purely, giving independent isolated outputs via Out and Tuner.  All with the smoothest feeling custom swell rate at your foot and silent tuning capability. This also means using your Tuner Out will have zero tonal consequences. 

Why...

    The Ernie Ball Volume Pedal is the most simplistic, yet solid and smoothest volume pedal ever created.  Though, it’s shortcomings arrive with the fact that it is completely passive.  The design places a 250k volume pot at your foot, which is just like wiring another paralleled pot in your guitar, and naturally causes some high end loss.  This is small compared to the damage you cause your sound if you use the Tuner Out jack.  The Tuner Out is wired in parallel off the Input and because of this design being passive you are splitting your impedance load in half.  What that means, audibly, is a major hit in clarity, fullness, and power in your original signal... That of which you cannot get back no matter what pedal you buy. 

How...

    With our custom designed circuit installed and supplied 9V of power the user has great control over the tone in hand.  The knob on the front of the pedal allows you to control the input impedance of the buffer.  What this does is allow you to control the exact amount of high end presence you hear from your pickups.  No treble is boosted, you just gain back what was taken away from your pickups due to loading.  Another perk is the entire active circuitry is completely 100% true-bypassable, so if you end up in a situation without extra power just flip the switch down and you have your completely stock volume pedal just like it was before.

Mod...

    This upgrade is made with premium high quality components and is designed to last a lifetime.  The mod itself includes our custom hand-built circuit along with our custom Thru-Tone designed potentiometer.  These pots are the best quality available anywhere, fully sealed casing, and the absolute smoothest.  We also apply a special treatment to the strings to increase durability and reduce the chance of string slippage and fray due to friction.  The circuit is completely noiseless when on and requires no special maintenance other than the TLC that you give all of your toys.  The pedal runs on 9V neg. tip DC power from any of your power supplies.  The input impedance is variable between ~ 50k to 1Meg, which is designed to give you the optimal flexibility to dial in that sweet spot.

    To order your PM-1 simply purchase below via the PayPal buttons.  Buying new directly from us will get it under your foot sooner and guarantees you receive the smoothest action possible as wear and dirt/debris in the pivot bushings can degrade smoothness in used pedals.  Though if you prefer to send us your pedal to mod just include the filled out order form along with your 6166 full-size, 6180 Jr, or 6181 Jr version volume pedal.  While it doesn’t matter if you have a 25k or a 250k version, when you receive your PM-1 it will be 250k when the active mode is bypassed to allow full use anywhere in the chain passively.  Your Ernie Ball also needs to be the newer version with the jacks on the front.  Your string will be replaced with a new treated string, which is now included in the price.

Note: For those cats that have our ALPS pots in their VP’s, don’t fret!  We designed our new custom pots around all of the same killer features that the ALPS offered, but now we can keep a large supply on hand and a consistent standard across all models.
